Overview of Bloomfield Police Department

The Bloomfield Police Department is made up of 20 sworn officers including patrol, detectives, civilian office staff, and administrative officers. Bloomfield PD serves a community of approximately 20,000 residents.

The Bloomfield Police Department’s Past Challenges 

Before InTime, Bloomfield PD was using an unsuitable spreadsheet tool to manage scheduling, leave and overtime requests, and court subpoenas. Their outdated tool caused challenges in daily and court scheduling visibility resulting in an inefficient use of manpower.

As a smaller police department, manpower comes at a premium. Bloomfield PD was challenged with identifying trends in their hours where they need the most personnel attention. And without scheduling visibility, it is difficult to focus on where they should apply their extra resources, resulting in an inability to optimize their limited resources.

MANUAL COURT AND SUBPOENA PROCESS IMPACTED OFFICER MORALE 

Previously, the Bloomfield PD was using an unsuitable calendar tool and paper processes to manage their court schedule and subpoena deliveries. This resulted in lost subpoenas and miscommunication on court dates and cancellations. Without a streamlined process, officers often received last minute subpoenas which affected team engagement, and overall, officer morale.

Present Day Improvements

Bloomfield PD decided to implement InTime in 2020 with the goal of optimizing manpower and streamlining their court and subpoena process. STREAMLINED COURT AND SUBPOENA PROCESS ELIMINATES SCHEDULING CONFLICTS 

To make the most of their scheduling solution, Bloomfield PD has also chosen to implement InTime’s Court and Subpoena additional module. With their schedule synced to their justice system, court clerks can see witness availability when selecting court dates. Officers are also notified through InTime Mobile of court appearances or cancellations. This has allowed Bloomfield PD to drastically eliminate scheduling conflicts and back-and-forth correspondence, driving agency efficiency.

Through real-time notifications, InTime has enabled officers to receive ample notice for any court appearances. We have a full integration with the court so the court clerk can see the officer’s schedules and avoid any conflicts. This is a big morale boost for our patrol officers.
